In the all-must-have-prizes way our kids are taught nowadays, there are two finals in US college swimming championships. One for the fastest eight swimmers from the heats – what we used to call “the final” in the old days – and one for the 9th to 16th fastest swimmers: they, too, have a “final”. Reka Gyorgy missed out on a “final” place in the recent 500 metres freestyle, as her qualifying time was the 17th fastest. And now she has also been banned from Twitter, as you can see below.

Earlier today I reported how, in an Orwellian fashion, LinkedIn had censored a link to THIS ARTICLE reporting hard data on covid spread rates in two states, Texas and California. The only logical explanation for the data is that mask usage makes no real difference to spread rates.

Patsy is a real climate activist from Australia. My guess is that means she does not have a proper job. But in the tweet below, she explains the climate crisis. Last year, all that CO2 we emit caused a lack of rain and global warming so there were bushfires. Now that very same CO2 is causing too much rain so there are floods. Got it? No, you are right Big Brother, I have limited training in science but I did study logic as part of my university course. I am not sure that the grossly overpaid liberal arts graduates who staff up BBC News studied anything useful at all. Gender studies perhaps? Last night, the News at 10 Special Report was all about how man-made global warming is affecting Siberia and how we must all change our wicked ways to preserve the permafrost and save the eco-system. Long time readers will know that my displacement nightmare activity involves my return to Oxford University. For reasons that are always slightly different, the story starts with me, rather foolishly, deciding that my 2:2 was not a true reflection of my academic genius and somehow I manage to persuade my old college to take me back for another stab at it. Somehow, I then contrive to screw it all up again and suddenly I am sitting in Schools, staring at an exam paper realising that this time around, notwithstanding widespread grade inflation, I’d be lucky to get even a Desmond.

I noted yesterday the ludicrous line being spun by the German Police that the axe wielding chap on the rampage at Dusseldorf station was from the former Yugoslavia, a country that had not existed for 16 years. Within minutes they had been able to say that the man had psychological issues. if only the NHS was so efficient in terms of diagnosis there would be no crisis. Yet the Police could not say where the chap came from. And the liberal media - in as much as they covered this at all - played along.

In Dusseldorf in Germany last night a man attacked folks with an axe injuring seven and he has already been branded as mentally ill. I record this podcast from Shipston where I have just rowed with my sister about A Levels and grade inflation which she denies in her Public Sector Ministry of Truth way. Then it is onto the US election, the outcomes and what that means. I am afraid that after last night I have a bad feeling. Then it is onto MXC Capital (MXCP), Redcentric (RCN) and Mosman Oil & Gas (MSMN) where in America there would now be class actions underway. Quite right too.
